Scene- The big city1967 a murky night the fog thick enough to block your view but not thick enough to hide the crime that goes on.
Narrator-Detective Dan Hammer is the only one who has the heart to combat the scum of the earth whether politician or to bit hood. The city is plagued by a crime syndicate with a boss no has ever seen and all of his henchmen were as ruthless as the communist over seas. Let us take a peek into detective Dan’s office on this dreary yet quiet night.
Detective Dan- [“It’s a type of night where every man should be at home with their families eating a warm turkey dinner in a loving atmosphere”. But here I am the one thing that stands in between the scum and decent law abiding citizens of this corrupt city.]
Narrator- detective Dan walks towards a window a looks out side as it gets darker his secretary Lucy begins to get weary and starts to pack up.
Lucy- If that is all detectives Dan I will take my leave, before I go sir as you know today is Friday and my meager compensation is due.
Detective Dan- [ If Lucy only knew that my agency is almost flat broke because of the last case I had, Huh How the heck would I pay her without money] Thank you Lucy I assure you I have not forgotten the fact you have held this agency together with a “band aid and string”. Let me write you a check.
Narrator- as Detective Dan walks to his desk they here a knock at the door. Lucy- I wonder who could be the door? We did not have any appointments scheduled for today.
Detective Dan- Well let us find out!
Narrator- Lucy opens the door and in walks a lady with a mysterious figure dressed all in black a cigarette in one hand and a pocket book in the other.
Detective Dan- [this is the most beautiful lady I have seen in all my 30 years on god’s green earth, she had legs that seemed to go on for days, skin that looks like it feels silky smooth, and the aroma of her perfume smell of lilacs. I gathered up my strength and welcomed her] Hello misses May I help you with something?
Lucy- Yes Madame may we assist you in any way as you can see we are closed. Our hours of operation are form 9 am to 8 pm.
Narrator- The mysterious lady speaks in a calm and seductive voice while starring at detective Dan.
Lilly- My name is Lilly, Lilly Lilac..! I need help and you are the only man I can turn to Detective.
Detective Dan- Is that so! [ at this time the biggest smirk is on my face like a school boy at recess I gather my self and ask her to sit down at my desk. Then I heard Lucy with a sarcastic town of voice.]
Lucy- would you like some coffee?
Narrator- Both detective Dan and Lilly answer “black with two sugars please”. Lucy then answers coming up.
Detective Dan- So miss Lilac what brings you to hammer investigation agency this evening?
Lilly- Well Detective something very dear to me has been missing for a couple of days.
Detective Dan- With all due respect Miss lilac but we specialize in crimes such as murder, theft and other such high profile misdeeds.
Lilly- what I am missing is a very rare diamond necklace from France which was handed down to me from generations and generations of the women in my family. Along with the missing necklace my husband was murdered.
Detective Dan- murdered! So you are a widow!
Lucy- here is you coffee! If that will be all I will take my leave now Detective before I forget you were about to give me something.
Detective Dan- why yes Lucy please forgive me here you go thank you for your service today you are the glue to this company.
Narrator- Dan gives Lucy the check and Lucy storms out the office with a sense of jealousy and anger. Then a drizzle of rain begins tapping the office window followed by a loud thunder and lightning strike. Detective Dan and Lilly discuss the details of the case.

“To serve and protect”. This was the motto of the police back in the good old days. Today no one really trusts the police, whether it is about racial profiling or it’s because of getting citations on a rainy day. Maybe it is because of the major bureaucracy that is going on the upper management side of the police force. The mayor of a city has the commissioner by the “grapefruits” ,the commissioner is riding the chief of police like a rented mule, and the chief has the sergeant climbing a wall. Therefore the patrol boys need to make their quota for arrest and citations. This is very interesting to see that our police force is an extension of the corporate way of life “quid pro quo”. Let’s examine this theory of a crimeless city, is their a need for police? Well I believe in defense and the need of capable people who are ready to defend freedom and peace. Many police officers in the United States are rarely viewed as a defender of peace. Some might say this is only the views of the minority demographic not the middle class suburban community. That is true and the reason for this is the view of the public towards the police. Let us breakdown the make up of the police. It is statistically proven that the majority of police officers are middle class people between the ages of 18-35 from well to do neighborhoods in America. Here is a little breakdown of my own research on my local police department. 75% are suburban middle class Americans who speak predominately English. While 25% are made up of the minority/low income class in some instances resident aliens. America has a vastly diverse cultural demographic and many of the people living in the country are not fluent in the English language. As a police officer who speaks English I would like to have another officer who is fluent in Spanish for translation reasons. In other words would you go into Chinatown to investigate a murder when you do not know how to speak Cantonese? As a person who doesn’t speak the English language very well or not at all would you trust an armed man in a uniform when you know he can’t really protect you because he cannot understand you? In my humble opinion I would open up the police force and encourage all cultures to be part of our police force. Our lovely government has passed a law where resident aliens cannot be part of the police force; you must be an American citizen. Well that is not such a bad thing but when you also raise the cost to fill the application to become a citizen you send a clear message to the people. The John McCain’s campaign enlightened us on “real America” therefore it is safe to say that only “real Americans” can be part of this countries law enforcement. With that message out their why do you think that half of the country dislike the police?

“The decisions you make in the defining moments of your life shapes your character”.
We all heard of “he without sin cast the first stone”, well many with sin has cast many stones on a vote for prop 8. I am a Hebrew/Christian by faith. I am a sinner by past deeds I am redeemed by the love of God. I am saved through Jesus Christ (Yeshua the messiah). By no means am I against the word when it comes to marriage. I know that it is clearly defined as a man being joined with a woman to walk as one in the eyes of God (Yahweh). I do not agree with gay marriages but it doesn’t mean I will go out of my way to stop two people who what to marry each other. Why you may ask. I have to clean up my life of sin before I can preach the word. Until then I am a man going through life striving for a clear path to righteousness. Sense we live in a free country such as America, If the government wants to allow gay marriages the so be it in a court of law but not in a church. Why not in a church you might ask, well because theirs’ been so much things that have been done in the church which brings many to question their faith and even kill for it. I want peace and a separation of things that are contradictory to the teachings of religious scripture. This might be a solution or a antagonist stand but her is my opinion. Since we have to get a marriage license from the courts in order to be considered married the courts can announce a partnership between same sex couples. This would be defined as a civil union and legal for all the people would be somewhat okay with this. The church has defined marriage therefore there should not be a redefinition of what marriage is. This will only open doors for the man who says his wife’s soul is in her pig and he wants to marry her as a pig. Even the elderly lady who says her cat has her deceased husbands’ mannerisms and left one million dollars to the cat when she died because she could not marry the cat to be one with her husband again. To the church and those of faith marriage is a union between one man and one woman. To the laws of government marriage is a union between people who love each other. Your rebottle please….!

“The love of money is the route of all evil”. We all know that where your heart is that is where your treasure lies. With that being said let’s look at two aspects in American living. Corporate America and Sub America are the “Ying and the yang” of the United States of America. America the beautiful land of the free home of the brave has a good side and a bad side. As one who has played ball on both sides of the fence I have observed many similarities the separate each other by small differences.
Corporate America for instance has a CEO who controls a company always striving to push his enterprise to be the best and crush the competition. Within this company many levels such as management, mid management, store management, and employee all striving to live up to the expectations of the CEO. Some see great reward while others do not. One golden rule is to respect the chain of command and never try to swim up stream.
A good subordinate will make store manager, a “major player” will make mid management, and a good ol’boy will be at the top of the food chain. What is the difference you might ask? This is just my humble opinion but here goes, a sales rep who meets quota and does his/her job perfectly gets a raise and a plaque on their wall. While a person who “pals around” with management and comes up with ideas with little work being done receives a promotion to assistant manager because he is known as a person with ambition. A store manager who busts his chops every day first one in and last one out blood, sweat and tears spilled without a complaint gets passed over, because he is more of an asset where he is than in the upper levels.
The team is now set you must play the “game” in order to move up the ladder. Rules to live by 1) no matter how many times the say it never challenge the system. 2) Accept what ever you are told as fact unless told otherwise. 3) It is 50% of what you know and 50% who you know. 4) You have no friends’ only favors. 5) It is better to resign than to fight. Live by these rules and you will find yourself in mid management with little respect but a good pension to retire on.
The CEO will build the empire make major moves and changes that affect your life, hopes , and dreams without thinking twice about it. Why because you do not factor into his plans of wealth. Therefore you must play ball to win but if you never play you cannot lose.

Ode to Turkey day even though you are twenty five days away I can not wait for that luscious taste. The cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, a side of salad, a glazed ham (not kosher), potato salad, and macaroni all surround you on a seven foot dinner table. On the Caribbean side we have a little brown rice with peas, some Khalid greens, and jerk chicken just to make you jealous my beloved turkey. We all know that without you we cannot have a happy thanksgiving Even without a job I will strive to visit family in order to have you in my tummy you delicious turkey. For now I must wait only days can keep us apart until then my sweet succulent fowl.
